A Vision Past of the Future Foretold

A new book about a legendary lost
science fiction movie.

THE FILM

SATURATION 70: the level at which the depletion of oxygen in the bloodstream becomes lethal.

Shot in Joshua Tree and Los Angeles in late 1969 and early 1970, and starring country-rock icon GRAM PARSONS, MICHELLE PHILLIPS (of THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS), rodeo tailor NUDIE COHN, and JULIAN JONES-LEITCH (the then-5-year-old son of Rolling Stone BRIAN JONES), SATURATION 70 was a groundbreaking science fiction helmed by visionary filmmaker ANTHONY FOUTZ, and special effects pioneer, DOUGLAS TRUMBULL.

A pop-surrealistic parable of creeping corporate power and infinite war, rampant industrialisation and environmental collapse, UFOs and time travel, SATURATION 70 has been described as a 'counterculture Wizard of Oz'.
